More UST stars pitch in support to Rondina's fundraiser

More University of Sto. Tomas athletes are throwing in their support to former Tigresses volleyball star Sisi Rondina’s fundraising for frontliners in the coronavirus (COVID-19)-hit Barangay Luz in Cebu City.
Fil-Italian Milena Alessandrini and Ysa Jimenez of women’s volleyball and UST basketball star Rhenz Abando put their jerseys up for bidding in the fundraiser, which aims to purchase personal protective equipment for frontliners deployed in the said barangay.
Starting bid is P1,200 for each jerseys while the auction for the items will close on Wednesday, April 22, at 11:59 p.m.
Rondina, a four-time UAAP beach volleyball champion and 30th Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist, spearheaded the fundraiser where she donated her UST jersey and a pair of shoes.
Tigresses rookie Imee Hernandez and UST men’s basketball stars Mark Nonoy and Renzo Subido backed the Compostela, Cebu native for the first batch of items auctioned off.
A total of P35,000 was raised at the close of the first batch of bidding. The said amount were used to purchase facemasks, face shields, alcohol and other protective items. These items are set to be shipped to Barangay Luz.
