University of the Philippines basketball star Ricci Rivero continues to find ways help out in the battle against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in his home province of Isabela.

After handing out relief goods to security frontliners a few weeks ago, Rivero donated upper respiratory care and hygiene essentials to frontliners in Dr. Victor Villaroman Memorial Hospital and Isabela Doctors General Hospital on Friday.

The high-flying UP guard, together with his father PetroGazz conditioning coach Paolo, mother Abigail, brother Rasheed and good friend national men’s volleyball team captain John Vic De Guzman, personally delivered the items to the said hospitals.

“I am blessed to be representing a brand that is very essential to protect ourselves against any virus, that’s why I personally requested my Betadine and Mundipharma family if they can drive all the way up to Isabela so that we can support the fight of our frontliners here,” said Rivero.

Among the items given were antiseptic products such as nasal sprays, throat sprays, mouth wash and hand sanitizers.

Rivero added that it’s also a way to give back to the medical institutions that have been taking care of his and his family’s health.

“Masaya po ako na sa kahit sa maliit na paraan at kahit malayo ako I can give back my blessings to them,” said Rivero. “Especially po dito sa mga doctors and nurses po ng Dr.  Victor Villaroman Memorial Hospital and Isabela Doctors General Hospital kung saan po ako and buong family ko po nagpapa-check since bata po ako.”

The Rivero family and De Guzman went to Isabela days before the government put Metro Manila and eventually the entire Luzon under an enhanced community quarantine last month.
