University of Sto. Tomas is not decreasing its scholarships for its student-athletes due to the continuing COVID-19 crisis.

"There shall be no athlete who will be released from scholarship this coming first term of academic year 2020-2021," Institute of Physical Education Director Rev. Fr. Jannel Abogado, O.P. said in a statement.

Abogado furthered that, following the order of Rector Magnificus Rev. Fr. Richard Ang, O.P. dated May 26, 2020, UST is guaranteeing that "all scholarships conferred during the second term of academic year 2019-2020 shall be carried on until December 2020."

This, in response to reports by The Daily Tribune and The Varsitarian stating "at least 30 student-athletes have been informed that their scholarship will be discontinued."

UST, through IPEA, remained adamant that no Growling Tiger will be left behind during the continuing COVID-19 crisis.
