De La Salle University continues to haul in underrated, yet nonetheless promising prospects.
In addition to Joshua Ramirez and Emman Galman, the Green Archers are welcoming with open arms University of the East High School main man CJ Austria.
"La Salle is one of the best teams in the UAAP and one of the best schools in the Philippines so I'm just blessed that I will be part of that," he said.
The 6-foot-3 forward fronted the effort for the Jr. Warriors in UAAP 82 on per game counts of a league-second-best 17.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.8 blocks.
Due to a coaching change right before the season started, however, the red and white never got going and wound up with a 3-11 standing.
Now, the inside operator with range extending to the three-point line will join a La Salle side ushering in a new era under seasoned tactician Derrick Pumaren.
Austria and fellow new faces Joshua David, Emman Galman, and Joshua Ramirez fortify a forward group that already includes Tyrus, Hill, Kurt Lojera, Joaqui Manuel and Encho Serrano.
Austria and Galman are yet to finish high school, however, and will only be eligible, as of the moment, for the Green Archers in UAAP 84.
From here to there, Austria is not one to make promises. "I will just do my very best to help and bring back La Salle to the top," he said.
