Libero Marcos hoping to have one more year for National U

Ricky Marcos is already 100 percent sure to play if and when the UAAP decides to extend the eligibility of super seniors
National University was already getting going in its title defense in UAAP 82.
Opening the tournament with back-to-back wins, the Bulldogs were only feeling good about their chances at retaining the crown.
Unfortunately, there came COVID-19.
The continuing crisis, at first, suspended the season before ultimately forcing the league to cancel all of Season 82.
For National U libero Ricky Marcos, that start-and-stop made what happened all the more frustrating. "Ang sakit. Alam mo yung parang pinaasa? Pinaasa lang kami e," he said in The Prospects Pod last Friday.
He then continued, "Siyempre, nakapaglaro na kayo ng UAAP ng dalawang beses e so yung momentum niyo, yung pinaghirapan niyo, nandun na. Sa start ng UAAP, labanan na ito tapos biglang ganun."
Showing maturity, though, the national team member believes that this is far from the end. As he put it, "May dahilan naman yung lahat kung bakit nagkakaganito."
In that light, Marcos remains hopeful that he has not played his last game in blue and gold just yet. "Balak ko, napagisip-isipan ko na rin kasing hindi na mababalik yung edad natin, hindi na mababalik yung kabataan natin so habang nandito pa ako, sa tingin ko, lalaruin ko pa," he said.
Right now, there are discussions and deliberations about extending the eligibility of the so-called super seniors whose campaigns were cut short by the continuing COVID-19 crisis.
If that comes to fruition, National U could be sure to still be set at libero.
