Not long after spreading his wings and taking flight in Ateneo de Manila High School, Lebron Lopez is seeking to do the same in the US.
The 6-foot-4 athletic wing is the latest signee of East-West Private (EWP), the sports management guiding 7-foot-2, 17-year-old Kai Sotto and Far Eastern University-Diliman Swiss army knife Cholo Anonuevo.
EWP is yet to make it official, but has already posted a teaser which states "Yes, he signed with EWP" in one photo and the letters "LL" in the other.
Without a doubt, sources have said that "LL" refers to Lebron Lopez.
Whenever the announcement is made, it would follow that the 16-year-old would be headed for the US where he would join Sotto and Anonuevo for training.
Last March, EWP paved a path for the Philippines' towering teen to suit up for the G League's brand new select squad.
That avenue may very well open up for Lopez who made an immediate impact in his first year as a Blue Eaglet.
Right after his transfer from La Salle Green Hills, the high flyer wasted no time introducing himself and wound up putting up per game counts of 16.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks.
He, Joshua Lazaro, and Forthsky Padrigao were the three-headed monster that made sure Ateneo continued contending even without Sotto.
Now, Lopez would be trying his luck following the footsteps of the former Jrs. MVP in the US.
