Iriga hopes to notch its first win against a debuting Baguio side.
Two provincial teams look to barge in the winning column on Wednesday in the 13th V-League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Baguio descends from the north to take on the southern squad of the Iriga Lady Uragons in the scheduled 4:00 p.m. collision airing live over ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/vleague.
The Lady Uragons are in search of a bounce back win after falling short in their debut against the Laoag Power Smashers, 10-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-25, last Monday.
But Iriga found a bright spot in their loss as Grazielle Bombita and Jose Rizal University recruit Shola Alvarez showed their arsenal by finishing with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Baguio is on their third stint in the league, hoping to get a better finish than their previous appearances.
Team captain Krissian Tsuchiya, Marian Torres and Anna Collen Rossi are all battle-hardened in the league having been exposed to the level of play in the Big City.
The three debuted in the league two years ago playing for St. Louis University before making a return stint in Season 12 Open Conference for Baguio.
Baguio (SLU) lost all of its games in their first appearance before bagging their first and lone win in last year’s Open Conference against Philippine Coast Guard in a five-set duel.
