Philippine Air Force targets its second win in as many games against Baguio.
Philippine Air Force guns for win no. 2 on Saturday when the Jet Spikers take on the provincial team Baguio Summer Spikers in the 13th V-League at The Arena in San Juan.
Behind the 16-point explosion of Dell Palomata and veteran Judy Ann Caballejo’s 13 markers, Philippine Air Force demolished the former Ateneo de Manila Lady Eagles-backed Bali Pure, 25-23, 14-25, 25-19, 25-16 last Monday.
The Jet Spikers are looking for a follow up to keep their clean record intact in the scheduled 4:00 p.m. joust that will air live over ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/vleague.
Baguio, on the other hand, is coming off a 22-25, 17-25, 24-26, loss to another provincial team Iriga last Wednesday in the Summer Spikers’ debut game.
But Air Force coach Jasper Jimenez isn’t taking the Summer Spikers’ lightly.
“Lahat naman ng team dito competitive so kailangan ang focus mo laging nandoon. Hindi pwedeng mag-relax kahit sinong kalaban,” he said.
Baguio played weary the last time out after a long travel from the country’s Summer Capital.
It showed in their game where only skipper Krissian Tsuchiya scored in double figures with 12 points.
A win will give the Jet Spikers share of the lead with Pocari Sweat while a loss will put Air Force in a tie with Baguio, Laoag and Iriga.
