F2 Logistics get a share of the lead after winning its third straight game.
F2 Logistics overpowered Generika in straight sets, 25-12, 25-16, 25-18, to extend its winning run to three and for a share of the lead in the 2016 Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference women’s volleyball tournament Thursday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
The Cargo Movers turned up the heat right from the opening serve to whip the Life Savers and tie the defending champion Petron Tri-Activ Spikers at the helm with 3-0 win-loss record.
Ara Galang and Abigail Marano led F2 Logistics with 11 points each. Galang played an all-around game with 10 kills while contributing on the defensive end with 10 digs and six excellent receptions.
Dawn Macandili, the main defensive key of De La Salle’s title run in the 78th UAAP, made manning the floor look easy as she complemented the scorching assault of the Cargo Movers’ hitters with 16 digs and eight excellent receptions.
Even with a an easy win and an perfect record, head coach Ramil De Jesus said that they still have to improve on their chemistry and condition especially Cha Cruz, who is still bothered by a minor shoulder injury. Cruz finished with eight points.
“Nakikita pa natin na konting-konti na lang ang mga kailangan pa naming i-improve tapos yung maintenance na lang sana ng condition,” said de Jesus.
The Life Savers suffered its third straight loss after winning its opening day assignment.
No player in Generika scored in double figures with Wensh Tiu posting only seven points as she found it hard to penetrate the defense of the Cargo Movers, whose core are mostly her former teammates in DLSU.
Shaya Adorador scored six points while Chlodia Cortez had four for Generika, which gave away nine service aces and 20 markers off errors.
