Far Eastern University is looking to book a ticket in the quarterfinals.
Well-rested Far Eastern University tries to close down the hunt for the three quarterfinals berths Wednesday when the Lady Tamaraws clash with the desperate San Beda Lady Red Spikers in the 13th V-League Collegiate Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Coming off a nine-day rest since walloping College of St. Benilde in their Group B preliminary round opening day match, the Lady Tams could formally clinch a spot in the next round with a win in the 4:00 p.m. game against the winless Lady Red Spikers.
The match will air live over ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/vleague.
FEU easily whipped the Lady Blazers, 25-16, 25-18, 25-18, last August 1 with Bernadeth Pons, Toni Basas and skipper Remy Palma all scoring in double figures.
Another victory will put the Morayta-based squad on a three-way tie on top of the standings with University of Sto. Tomas and University of the Philippines at 2-0 win-loss slates. This will officially complete the roster of the teams that will advance in the quarterfinals.
San Beda is looking to keep its quarters hopes alive and a taste of its first win in the tournament.
The Lady Red Spikers are winless in two games including a 25-27, 18-25, 25-20, 18-25 defeat at the hands of UST last week.
Guest player Janine Marciano, Wenneth Eulalio and Francesca Racraquin need to put their A-game on to prevent an early vacation with College of St. Benilde (0-3).
