TIP pounds 21 aces in straight sets drubbing of Perpetual

Technological Institute of the Philippines had a field day on service winners in a walk in the park win against University of Perpetual Help.
Technological Institute of the Philippines returned in the win column with a straight sets, 25-16, 25-13, 25-15, whipping of University of Perpetual Help in Group A preliminary of the 13th V-League Collegiate Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City Wednesday night.
The Lady Engineers tied idle San Sebastian Lady Stags at 2-1 win-loss record to remain on the right track for one of the three quarterfinals slots at stake.
Guest player Mylene Paat scored 13 points in a balanced offensive performance coming from five kills, five service aces and three kill blocks for TIP, which scored an eye-popping 21 service aces.
Gayle Layug had 10 while guest player and veteran setter Chie Saet dished out 20 points with nine points for the Lady Engineers, who rebounded from a straight sets loss to SSC-R. Eunice Mabayao scored eight with five coming off aces.
The Lady Altas dropped to 0-2 record tied with Ateneo de Manila.
Lourdes Clemente got 12 points while team captain Coleen Bravo got five for Perpetual.
