Lady Stags, Lady Maroons collide for a semis spot
San Sebastian College and University of the Philippines dispute a semifinals ticket.

San Sebastian College and University of the Philippines shoot for a semifinals seat in a battle that is expected to go down to the wire Wednesday at the close of the 13th V-League Collegiate Conference quarterfinal round at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Both teams are coming off a painful loss and are in a three-way tie with Ateneo de Manila Lady Eagles at 2-2 win-loss records.

Opening serve is at 4:00 p.m. The game will air live over Sports & Action Channel 23, Sports & Action HD Channel 166 and via livestream on sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/vleague.

The Lady Maroons suffered a 25-23, 19-25, 24-26, 19-25, loss to the defending champion National University last Monday while the Lady Stags absorbed a 25-27, 20-25, 11-25, beating at the hands of the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws last Saturday.

UP will bank on the trio of Diana Carlo, Isa Molde and Kathy Bersola against SSC-R which will heavily rely on Open Conference Most Valuable Player Grethcel Soltones.

The winner will advance in the Final Four to join NU and FEU while the loser will need to wait for the result of the Lady Tams-Lady Eagles match at 6:00 p.m.

In case FEU wins the match, Ateneo and the loser between SSC-R and UP will face-off in a playoff for the last semis ticket. A win by Ateneo will complete the semis cast.
