FEU will not risk Pons in UP series

Pons missed the Ateneo series after injuring her ankle during the game 1 warmups.
The top-seeded FEU Lady Tamaraws refuse to cite the sudden injury to Bernadeth Pons as the reason why they got swept by Ateneo in the semifinals of the 13th V-League Collegiate Conference.
However, they do not deny that her loss severely hampered their system considering the star spiker went down right after the warmups prior to game 1 of the series.
With their loss to Ateneo, Delos Santos admitted that his FEU squad still needs more fine-tuning on the maturity side to truly become contenders.
And with the Lady Tamaraws set to have a best-of-3 series against University of the Philippines to decide third place, the veteran champion coach is not going to risk Pons any longer, adding that the UAAP title remains as the ultimate prize for FEU.
"Ay hindi, hindi. Ang importante kasi samin ang UAAP so dun kami magfo-focus. Ito [V-League] malaking bagay samin, exposure, but of course UAAP number one samin," Delos Santos said.
