Philippine Air Force looks to start a winning run in a showdown with Laoag.
Philippine Air Force tangles with the Laoag Power Smashers on Wednesday hoping to score back-to-back victories in the 13th V-League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Game time is set at 4:00 p.m and will air live via sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/vleague and on a delayed basis at 8:00 p.m. on S+A channel 23 and S+A HD channel 166.
The Lady Jet Spikers bounced back from its opening day loss to University of Sto. Tomas with a morale-boosting upset last week over Open Conference Finals tormentor Pocari Sweat, 25-20, 22-25, 25-7, 22-25, 15-12, to move to 1-1 win-loss record tied with their victim and Laoag.
Veterans Mary Ann Pantino, Jocemer Tapic, Joy Cases, Judy Ann Caballejo and setter Wendy Semana will march into battle with hopes of sparking a winning run against the same team they defeated in the Open Conference semifinals.
Standing on Air Force’s way are the Power Smashers.
Laoag dropped a sorry 25-18, 25-27, 25-21, 21-25, 9-15, defeat at the hands of the undermanned Bureau of Customs the last time out.
The Power Smashers failed to slowdown the Transformers’ ace hitter Alyssa Valdez as the local volleyball superstar unleashed a 39-point blitz to shatter the six-year league scoring record.
Jorelle Singh, who had 28 markers in their last outing, Grethcel Soltones, Aiko Urdas and Jema Galanza will need to work more as a unit to stand a chance against the cohesive Lady Jet Spikers.
