BaliPure scored its second straight win behind the sizzling offense of American Kate Morrell and former Ateneo de Manila star Dzi Gervacio.
BaliPure made short work of Philippine Air Force, 25-22, 25-19, 25-21, to claim its second straight win Monday in the 13th V-League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Again it was the scoring duo of American import Kate Morrell and former Ateneo de Manila star Dzi Gervacio that carried the Purest Water Defenders up the standings with a 2-1 win-loss record tied with Laoag, which is playing University of the Philippines as of posting time.
Morrell smashed 17 kills in her total of 19 points and added 12 digs for BaliPure, which took its second lopsided win after sweeping the Alyssa Valdez-led Bureau of Customs a week ago.
Gervacio remained the most consistent local player with double-digit scoring for the Water Defenders as the open spiker chipped in 10 markers while Amy Ahomiro had eight points.
"We're very, very happy with the win. Of course we know that we still have a lot of things to improve on, and we want to keep on working on that," said BaliPure veteran Charo Soriano. "It was a good game for us. I think everyone was very in sync today."
American setter Kaylee Manns dished out 41 excellent sets and added six points.
The Lady Jet Spikers dropped to its second straight loss to slide down to 1-3 slate.
Jocemer Tapic had 10 points while Joy Cases finished with nine markers for the Open Conference runner-up.
