May Ann Pantino of Philippine Air Force challenged the defense of Philippine Coast Guard's Sheila Cecilio.
Philippine Air Force arrested a two-game skid with an emphatic 25-11, 25-19, 25-8 whipping of the hapless Philippine Coast Guard Wednesday in the 13th V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
The Lady Jet Spikers ripped the defense of the Lady Dolphins to rebound from its consecutive losses and improve to 2-3 win-loss record tied with University of the Philippines. Air Force kept its semifinals hopes alive while sending the listless Coast Guard out of contention.
May Ann Pantino scored 10 points in only two sets of action with the veteran hitting eight of the Lady Jet Spikers’ 44 total attack points. Dell Palomata had eight points while Judy Ann Caballejo scored six.
With a very tight Final Four race, Air Force will need to sweep its remaining two games against UP and Bureau of Customs. But the lady Jet Spikers will also have to hope that three from Open Conference champion Pocari Sweat, BaliPure, Laoag and UP won’t go over four wins to force a playoff for the last semis seat in the season-ending conference.
Grenlen Malapit had five points while Sam Dawson and Hazel Mea made four and three hits, respectively, for the ousted Coast Guard, which fell to 0-5.
