Bureau of Customs will be shooting for the third Final Four ticket against winless Philippine Coast Guard.
Bureau of Customs gun for the third semifinals berth when the Transformers try to rebound from its loss in the previous game in a showdown with listless Philippine Coast Guard Wednesday in the 13th V-League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Coming off a stunning straight sets loss to Pocari Sweat last Saturday, BoC looks to claim its fourth win to join the league-leading University of Sto. Tomas and the Lady Warriors to the Final Four.
Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air via livestream at sports.abs-cbn.com/livestream/vleague and at 8:00 p.m. on ABS-CBN S+A channel 23.
UST and Pocari sweat which hold 5-1 and 4-1 win-loss slates, respectively, secured the first two seats in the next round.
The Transformers are coming off a 22-25, 22-25, 14-25, defeat at the hands of the Open Conference champion Lady Warriors to slide back to 3-2 card.
Conference scoring leader Alyssa Valdez scored 18 points last game but BoC failed to get much help from their other players as Thai import Kanjana Kuthaisong was limited to only 10 points after averaging almost 17 markers per game while Rose Marie Vargas was far worst with only three points in three sets.
Transformers head coach Sherwin Meneses said that the team can’t be complacent even against a squad which has yet to win a game and even a set.
“Kung titingnan mo ang schedule (malaki ang chance na manalo) pero schedule lang ‘yun eh. Kung ganoon ang lalaruin namin talagang matatalo kami eh,” said Meneses pointing their terrible outing the last time out. “’Yung two games naming pagpapaguran pa namin.”
The Lady Dolphins are down with five straight losses in as many outings.
Coast Guard absorbed a bad 11-25, 19-25, 8-25 beating at the hands of Philippine Air Force a week ago.
