We have to double time ending this season -- Alyssa Valdez
Siyempre it’s been super long road na pinagdaanan namin talaga and ngayon konti na lang talaga, konting lakad na lang or takbo or sprint nandoon na rin kami sa dulo -- Alyssa Valdez

After a long and rough journey, the Bureau of Customs Transformers are finally two wins away from the coveted 13th V-League Reinforced Conference crown.

Superstar Alyssa Valdez and the rest of the Transformers are going all-out.

“Siyempre it’s been super long road na pinagdaanan namin talaga and ngayon konti na lang talaga, konting lakad na lang or takbo or sprint nandoon na rin kami sa dulo,” said Valdez.

The former Queen Eagle with the help of Thai import Kanjana Kuthaisong and Rose Marie Vargas completed an impressive come-from-behind series win with a 25-21, 25-16, 24-26, 8-25, 15-8, Wednesday night in Game 3 of the 13th V-League Reinforced Conference best-of-three Final Four at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

BoC bounced back mightily in the fifth set after getting pummeled in the fourth, building an 11-3 lead that settled the outcome.

The Transformers will take on Pocari Sweat in the best-of-three championship series starting Saturday.

“So we really have to, kung we’re working hard for the past months, we really have to double time talaga ending this season,” said Valdez, who scored 16 points with all but one of her markers coming off kills.

BoC dropped the semis series opener, 19-25, 18-25, 21-25, before equalizing in Game 2 last Monday, 25-19, 15-25, 25-20, 25-17.

The Transformers hurdled a lot of bumps along their way. BoC played all-Filipino in their first two games after Kuthaisong and Thai setter Nattanicha Jaisaen were banned to see action because of issues with their International Transfer Certificates while veterans Pau Soriano and Lilet Mabbayad  skipped one match to complete their release from their former league.

The Transformers weathered all of these challenges to enter the final stage of the tournament.

Valdez, who last played in the championship round of the league a year ago when PLDT annexed the Reinforced Conference crown, braces for a tough challenge once again in the Finals.

The Transformers lost in straight sets against the Open Conference champion Lady Warriors in the elimination round.

“Kasi going up against Pocari Sweat talaga they’re really strong they’re veterans, they’re well experienced team and they work as a team so it’s really a hard challenge for us, Bureau of Customs, to play against them,” she said.
