Rachel Anne Daquis will have her no. 3 jersey retired by Far Eastern University.
Far Eastern University will fete its former varsity player Rachel Anne Daquis with the honor of being the first volleyball player to have her jersey retired by the school.
The RC Cola-Army hitter that served as the face of Philippine volleyball during her UAAP days from 2004 to 2009 will have her 'No. 3' jersey hang on the school gym’s rafters. Daquis gave the Lady Tamaraws their last UAAP title back in Season 70.
FEU is yet to announce the schedule of the ceremony.
“Hindi ko pa alam kung kailan ang ceremony pero kahit naman wala, basta the fact na ma-retire ang jersey mo napakalaking honor na 'yun," said Daquis Tuesday during RC Cola’s straight sets win over Cignal, 25-13, 250-15, 25-10, in the 2016 PSL Grand Prix.
Daquis, who played for the national team in various international tournaments and represented the country in the 2016 FIVB Women's Club World Championship recently, will join basketball players Arwind Santos and Johny Abbarientos in the elite list of FEU stars.
