Banking on their superb partnership and heady plays, Team Fire and Ice outdueled Soriano and Yee’s Team Hugs to claim the title and walk away with a hefty P20,00 cash prize in the two-day event.
In the battle for third match, former Ateneo de Manila star and BaliPure Puerest Water Defenders mainstay in the V-League Dzi Gervacio and Bryan Bagunas of National University copped the bronze medal after defeating the tandem of Mary Jolyn Ebro and and James Natividad in straight sets, 24-22, 21-17.

After a meltdown on the second set, Team Fire and Ice went down to business to open the deciding frame with a 4-1 lead. Team Hugs closed the gap, 10-12, but Soriano was bothered by cramps on the crucial closing stretch. Team Fire and Ice capitalized to seal the conquest.
