Gervacio and Gormley win epic BVR Lakawon Island final

In what was easily the best final game of BVR on Tour 2017, Dzi Gervacio won her second straight leg after teaming up with Kassie Gormley in Negros Occidental Sunday.
The BVR pair beat Mae Demontano and Jackie Estoquia of Team Iloilo for the leg 3 championship, scoring a 14-21, 21-18, 16-14 decision to cap to two-day joust at Lakawon Island.
After winning in Dagupan last month with Bea Tan, Gervacio now likewise holds two leg wins for 2017 after taking care of business with Gormley.
Gervacio and Gormley also took home a grand prize of P30,000 while Demontano and Estoquia, both BVR on Tour veterans in their own right, settled for P20,000.
Southwestern University's Therese Ramas and Floremel Rodriguez won third and P10,000 in the women's division.
In men's play, a new champion was crowned after FEU's Jeremiah Barrica and Kevin Hadlocon defeated Iloilo's Belson Ocampo and Jason Labuyo in another close final, 21-18, 22-20.
Hadlocon and Barrica likewise took home P30,000 for their victory.
After Negros Occidental, BVR gets right back on Tour with La Union coming up next on April 1-2 before returning to Anguib Beach in Cagayan on April 22-23.
