BVR shifts into higher gear as 2017 tour heads to La Union
UST Golden pair KR Guzman and Anthony Arbasto will be on the hunt for a third leg championship as BVR on Tour heads to La Union.

After another successful leg at Lakawon Island that featured perhaps the most incredible final of the calendar year so far, the Beach Volleyball Republic gets ready to shift into higher gear with a fourth leg set for this weekend.

Kicking off the first of two legs this April, BVR on Tour 2017 makes its return to La Union as Kahuna Beach will host a two-day joust featuring both the women's and men's division.

While this leg is sitll more of the same as with the three previous ones, Kahuna Beach will offer something a little different as previous winners from BVR on Tour 2017 will be automatically seeded in a double-elimination format.

Aside from P30,000 grand prize for the champion, slots for the 2017 BVR National Championships set for June are also at stake.

So far, the tentative list for the Kahuna Beach leg of BVR on Tour 2017 include two-time leg champion Bea Tan teamming up with former Adamson Lady Falcon Amanda Villanueva.

Fellow two-time leg winner Dzi Gervacio will have Charo Soriano as partner while Lakawon Island champion Kassi Gormley will go to battle with Cecila Bangad.

Teams from PNP-Tagum, Airforce, Lyceum, Perpetual, and RTU are also on the initial list for La Union.

In the men's division, two-time leg champions KR Guzman and Anthony Arbasto are set to go on tour again after missing Lakawon Island. Their chief rivals Kevin Hadlocon and Jeremiah Barrica are also scheduled to compete as the FEU pair look for a second straight leg win.

The Taneo brothers from Perpetual Help also figure in a tight race for the men's championship while pairs from Cebu, Navy, Lyceum, Airforce, and Bacolod complete the list.

BVR on Tour 2017 has gone to Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Dagupan, Pangasinan, and Lakawon Island, Negros Occidental this year for the first three legs of the 2017 BVR tournament. After the La Union leg, it will also go to Visayas this May and then to Ilocos Norte before the culmination on June.

BVR Kahuna Beach is set for April 1-2.
