The year of Bea Tan continues... well at least through the preliminary round of another BVR on Tour leg.
Tan, winner of three legs so far this year, has partnered with the returning Rupia Inck of Brazil to top Bracket A of the Metro Manila leg of 2017 tour at the Mall of Asia sand court Saturday.
As one of the two top seeds, Team Perlas advanced to the semifinals of the two-day joust sponsored by Hotel 101, SM Sands by the Bay, and Nestea.
There, the Tan-Inck tandem will meet Team Emoji made up of Kahuna Beach leg champion Amanda Villanueva and Rap Aguilar.
The other top seed, the Japanese pair of Keiko Urata and Chiyo Suzuki will come face-to-face with Lot Catubag and Kaka Quilario of Team Tagum.
In men's play, the UST Golden pair of KR Guzman and Anthony Arbasto also earned a number 1 ranking headed to the semifinals while rivals Kevin Hadlocon and Jeremiah Barrica topped the other side of the bracket.
Guzman and Arbasto will take on Bacolod's Simon Aguillon and Ralph Savellano in the Final Four while the Hadlocon-Barrica pair drew Edwin Tolentino and Mike Abria of Air Force.
The fifth leg of the 2017 tour is the second time the BVR has invited foreign teams to compete with the first time during the Invitational tournament in Cagayan last year. Brazil's Mimi Amaral and Bruna Figueredo dominated the field at Anguib Beach.
