Yeah the "Rupia Inck coming all the way from Brazil to win a BVR title" plan didn't exactly end well.
Instead, a couple of players who came all the way from Japan took the crown in the latest installment of BVR on Tour 2017 that just wrapped up at the SM Mall of Asia sand court Sunday.
Keiko Urata and Chiyo Suzuki made quick work of the Team Perlas tandem of Inck and Bea Tan in the final of the women's division, taking the fifth leg of the tour after a convincing 21-12, 21-17 win.
The visiting Japanese pair, who topped Bracket B during the preliminary round Saturday won themselves a cool P80,000 worth of cash and gift packs in the two-day joust sponsored by Hotel 101, SM Sands by the Bay, and Nestea.
Urata and Suzuki earlier disposed of Team Tagum in the semifinals.
In men's play, FEU's Jeremiah Barrica and Kevin Hadlocon finally put one over KR Guzman and Anthony Arbasto, scoring a pulasting 18-21, 26-24, 15-13 victory to win their second leg this year.
After losing three finals already to UST's golden pair, Barrica and Hadlocon got their revenge to also take home P80,000 worth of cash and gift packs.
