Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. received FIVB's recognition as country's governing body of the sport.
Federation Internationale De Volleyball (FIVB) gave Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. its provisional recognition as the governing body of the sport in the country.
In a letter signed by FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo dated May 11, 2017, the world’s volleyball body granted LVPI the right to organize international competitions in the Philippines and to form and enter national teams in international contests.

PVF and LVPI has been disputing the control of the popular sport since 2015. Philippine Olympic Committee decided to recognize LVPI as the country’s national sports association after some leadership issues inside the PVF.
LVPI formed the national team that saw action in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore two years ago, hosted the 2015 Asian U-23 Championship as well as sanctioned the international events hosting like the AVC Asian Club Championship and the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship last year.
