UNO-R's Erjane Magdato and Alexa Polidario took care of business at the at Basdaku White Beach in Moalboal over the weekend, crowning themselves as winners of the BVR on Tour 2017 Cebu leg.
Matched up against the SIATON pair of Floremel Rodriguez and and Rae Ramas, both BVR regulars themselves, in the Final, the Magdato-Polidario connection came through, scoring a 21-19, 21-17 sweep to win the final leg before the 2017 BVR National Championships take center stage later this month.
Coming off tough bracket C during Day 1 Friday, Rodriguez and Polidario figured it out when it mattered most to take the title and P50,000.
Perlas, featuring the returning Charo Soriano and Bea Tan, took third place at the expense of Redline's Jusabelle Brilo and Chona Gesulga, 21-18, 22-20.
In men's play, Liloan Redline's Jade Becaldo and Rommel Pepito capped an impressive tournament by beating NU's Bryan Bagunas and James Natividad in the Finals, 26-24, 21-18.
The win was the second straight for the Becaldo-Pepito tandem as the hometown team also won in the Ilocos Norte leg back in May.
USJ-R Team A's Jay Verbosidad and Alastair Gairanud won third after finishing off the Aizzat-Safwan tandem of Malaysia in three sets, 16-21, 21-16, 15-12.
