Part of the beauty of international competitions like the Asian Senior Women's Volleyball Championship being hosted in local shores is the chance for fans to witness other countries' stars in action, right in front of their eyes.
That's exactly the case for a few UAAP volleyball players who took time off of their day to catch and fortunately meet their favorite Asian stars.
Like UP Fighting Lady Maroons' setter Arielle Estrañero, who showed her dedication by waiting in the players' exit to have a quick chat and to snap a photo with Thailand's star playmaker Nootsara Tomkom.

Or like former University of Sto. Tomas Golden Tigress Carmela Tunay, who basically made most of her unhindered access to the event by posing for a couple of photos with a few Thai players.
Meanwhile, Cherry Rondina is beside herself, getting close to another Thai star, Wilavan Apinyapong, who apparently shares a resemblance with the UST hitter.
Here's Tyang Aby Marano, shedding her Beast Mode persona for a while to immortalize a moment with South Korean star Kim Yeon-koung.
And finally, here's Alysas Valdez, Jaja Santiago, Jovelyn Gonzaga, and Team Philippines head coach Francis Vicente looking mystified by KYK's presence during an interview with S+A commentator Anton Roxas, moments after their heated clash.
No doubt, watching high-level matches is fun, but these behind-the-scenes look is a nice reminder that our local collegiate players are inspired by top-flight volleybelles, the same way they bolster Filipino fans' love for the sport.
