Cocolife scores back-to-back wins
American import Taylor Milton poured 21 points in Cocolife's second win in a row.

Games Thursday:

(FilOil Flying V Centre)

4:15 p.m. –- Iriga City vs. Generika-Ayala

7:00 p.m. –- UST vs. Petron

American reinforcement Taylor Milton flexed her muscles to lead Cocolife to its second straight win at the expense of debuting Victoria Sports-University of Sto. Tomas, 25-19, 16-25, 25-17, 25-20, Tuesday in the 2017 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Milton smashed 16 attacks and had five kill blocks for a 21-point outing while adding six excellent receptions as the Asset Managers improved to 2-2 win-loss record.

Cocolife’s other American import Shar Latai Manu-Olevao added 20 points while skipper Michel Gumabao scored 16 including four aces.

But Asset Managers head coach Kungfu Reyes still saw a lot of things that they need to improve on.

“Madami kami masyadong errors,” said Reyes, stressing that they need to take care of the ball after giving away 30 points to UST off errors.

“Every time ‘di kami nakakakuha ng first ball, ‘yun ang nagiging problema namin lalo na nung second set. Siguro kinargahan ng UST ‘yung service n’ya, kami naman ang nagwawala sa first ball,” added Reyes, who is also the head coach of UST in the UAAP. “Nagwawala kami sa first ball, nagwawala rin kami sa service area. Nagiging problema namin ngayon yung passing ng team namin. Pinipilit naming ayusin every training ‘yung department na ‘yun.”

Carla Sandoval and Dimdin Pacres scored 14 points each while Japanese import Yukie Inamasu added 11 for the Tigresses.
