Gonzaga down with knee injury as Cignal bows to F2 Logistics

Cignal's Jovelyn Gonzaga was stretchered off the court after hurting her right knee in the second set of their match against F2 Logistics.
Cignal standout Jovelyn Gonzaga went down with a right knee injury in the second set of the HD Spikers’ match against F2 Logistics Tuesday in the 2017 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix at FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Gonzaga said that she felt something ‘popped’ in her knee when she landed following an attack in the second frame with Cignal down, 13-21.
The national team mainstay was crying in pain and was stretchered back to their dugout before she was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center.
The extent of the injury has yet to be determined following medical tests.

PSL official Dr. Ian Laurel he was able to talk to Gonzaga inside Cignal’s dugout.
“We don’t know if it's an ACL or an MCL (injury) or both. She said she heard a pop when she landed,” said Laurel. “She has no prior history ng ganyang injury and sometimes kasi yung fear din nandoon.”
The unbeaten Cargo Movers defeated Cignal, 25-22, 25-13, 25-12, for a 6-0 slate. The HD Spikers absorbed their fourth loss in six games.
