Petron tapped former University of the Philippines libero Pia Gaiser as the Blaze Spikers beef up their roster for the 2018 PSL Grand Prix.
Former University of the Philippines libero Pia Gaiser will return to volleyball action months after sustaining a knee injury, inking a deal with Petron to play in the Philippine Superliga.
Gaiser will don the Blaze Spikers uniform this February for the season-opening 2018 Grand Prix as Petron guns to reclaim the crown it last held three years ago.
Gaiser suffered an ACL tear on her left knee March 2017 in a match against National University, putting an abrupt end to her UAAP swan song with the Lady Maroons.
Her management Virtual Playground announced Gaiser's return to volleyball.
"Pia Gaiser after her unfortunate ACL on her last playing year for UP is now cleared and ready to go back on the playing court. She will see action in the PSL this February," according to a statement released by Virtual Playground.
Now fully recovered, Gaiser is expected to give Petron, runner-up in the 2017 edition of the import-laden tournament, a solid floor coverage.
