Volleyball star Michele Gumabao slayed the question and answer portion of the 2018 Bb. Pilipinas Sunday night at the Big Dome.
The former De La Salle University standout and three-time UAAP champion, known to give sportswriters meaty post-game interviews, received great applause from the audience when she answered the question given to her by renowned journalist Ces Drilon in the Top 15 during the most-awaited part of the pageant.
“What can you do to fight fake news?” was Drilon’s question.
Candidate no. 19 Gumabao’s answer:
“I know that fake news is rampant nowadays, but, in order to fight this, we must first know what we are reporting, know what we are reading, and, at the same time, be accountable for what we say, especially online. And I hope that media always filters and use their resources to always deliver truth and authentic news.”
Gumabao's answer, poise and beauty earned her the title of Bb. Pilipinas Globe.
