Pablo, Reyes, Lazaro lead 11 new players in nat'l team tryout

A total of 21 players including 11 new faces joined the second set of national women's volleyball team tryout.
Eleven new faces showed up in the second installment of the national women’s volley team tryout at the Arellano University Gym in Legarda on Wednesday.
Pocari Sweat’s Myla Pablo, Petron’s Mika Reyes, Denden Lazaro of Cocolife, University of the Philippines’ Tots Carlos and University of the East libero Kath Arado were some of the big names who joined the pool of national team hopefuls after skipping last Friday first tryout.
A total of 21 players attended with half of the group showing up for the first time in the selection process facilitated by national team head coach Ramil De Jesus as the country builds up for the 18th Jakarta Asian Games in August and the AVC Asia Cup in September.
Also in attendance were other first-timers Elaine Kasilag of Pocari Sweat, Petron’s setter Rhea Dimaculangan and Ces Molina, Bang Pineda of Generika-Ayala, Cocolife’s Royse Tubino and Lourdes Clemente of F2 Logistics.
Kasilag and Pablo skipped the drills and scrimmage to attend their team practice in Villamor Airbase while Reyes, Molina and Dimaculangan also left early for their club training.
Back in the tryout were Sta. Lucia’s Becca Rivera and MJ Phillips, De La Salle University’s Kim Kianna Dy, Majoy Baron, Dawn Macandili and Cha Cruz, Ara Galang, Kim Fajardo and Aby Maraño and University of Sto. Tomas’ Sisi Rondina.
