Mylene Paat got elevated into the main roster of the Philippine national women's volleyball team after Petron star Ces Molina sustained an injury with less than a month before the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games.
Molina suffered a stress fracture on her shin will be replaced by Cignal's Paat, who is a part of the 20-woman national pool.
The national squad is set to fly to Japan on August 5 as part of their preparation for the Asiad set on August 18 to September 2.
Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. vice president Peter Cayco said that they can still tweak na national team lineup due to medical reason.
“We’re now writing a letter that we will submit first thing on Wednesday together with the medical certificate and other documents that will prove that she’s really injured,” said Cayco. "We have to move fast because the Asian Games organizers need it as soon as possible.”
Molina according to Petron head coach and national team mentor will still be fielded in the 2018 Philippine Superliga Invitational Finals against archrival F2 Logistics but will see limited minutes.
After that Molina will be given at least four weeks of rest.
Molina played for the national team in last year's AVC Asian Women's Senior Championship and in the Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian Games.
