BVR December Open 2018: 12 women's and men's teams vie for crown, Celebrity Match for charity on Sunday

The three-day event will also feature the Sandroots program, a beach volleyball workshop with the players handling the kids' camp on Saturday.
Also, to show gratitude and appreciation for another successful year, BVR is making the December’s tournament true to its mission by hosting a celebrity match for a cause at 4 p.m. on Sunday, with the ticket proceeds will go to its beneficiary Mindanao State University College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Academy in Marawi City.
Tournament format calls for four brackets of three teams, with the top two pairs in each group advancing will into the knockout quarterfinals.
The winners will make it to the semifinals, where the survivors will clash for the title in the 10th and final leg of the year.
The games will start at 8 a.m.
In the women's side, Group A is composed of BanKo-Perlas 1, Air Force 1 and National University-Boysen, while University of Santo Tomas-Maynilad 1, Creamline and Wild Card are in Group B.
In Group C are UST-Maynilad 2, Malaya-Far Eastern University and Air Force 2, while BanKo-Perlas 2, PetroGazz and Rizal Technological University are bracketed in Group D.
Meanwhile, Tiger Winx, the Dumaguete leg champions, will head a heavy cast in the men's division.
Also in the mix are two teams from Cignal, PLDT and Luna, Air Force, Fury-Ritemed, Malaya, NU-Boysen and two Wild Card pairs.
Now on its third year as the premiere beach volleyball organization in the country, BVR has grown to be a staple outdoor lifestyle brand that is known for its beach volleyball tournaments and nationwide tours.
Through its programs, BVR aims that every aspiring beach volleyball athlete shall be given the opportunity to showcase and improve their talents through competitive games. Furthermore, it also yearn to manifest the game of beach volleyball across the country, inspiring a new era of Filipino youth and making the Philippines the Asia’s hub for beach volleyball.
The BVR is fresh from last month's Dumaguete sojourn - the most well-attended leg in the three-year old beach volleyball circuit.
