Team KiefLy crushes first beach volleyball stint together
Team KiefLy took home a close victory in the one-set exhibition match versus Charo Soriano and John Vic De Guzman.

Philippine sports power couple Alyssa Valdez and Kiefer Ravena hit the sandcourts together for the first time in the celebrity match of the Beach Volleyball Republic December Open Sunday at the Sands SM by the Bay.

They took home a close 23-21 victory in the one set exhibition match versus Charo Soriano and John Vic De Guzman.

Both duos put on a fun show for the fans in attendance as they gave an impromptu dance number before the game.

The match itself was also not short of entertaining moments especially when Ravena who is known for being a crafty point guard in the basketball court produced most of the points in the sands.

"Nakita naman natin na si Kiefer yung player of the game talaga. Service aces, blocks, and mga spikes," quipped former Ateneo beach volleyball player Valdez.

This is Ravena's first time to play beach volleyball competitively and it was made more special because it was with beau Valdez.

"Beach volleyball is very underestimated, I never thought it would really be this hard. Of course, we play it for fun every time we're on the beach with family but competitively, it's really different," said the sidelined NLEX Road Warrior after the fun game.

"I enjoyed it especially playing with my girlfriend, Alyssa, who's really a beach volleyball player, it was nice to pull up a win tonight kahit nag-eenjoy lang din kami," added Ravena.

Both shared that they did not do any solid preparation for the exhibition game in order to just enjoy the moment.

"Before going here, nanonood na kami ng highlights ng beach volleyball kasi we never trained together," shared the five-time PVL MVP.

"We wanted to come out as unprepared as possible to really enjoy it na lang," added the PBA standout.

The Phenom's game versus Soriano and De Guzman is also for a good cause. The proceeds of the event will be donated to Mindanao State College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation Academy in Marawi City.

"It was nice that I played for the BVR family. It's for a cause and it's one great experience especially knowing you're helping a lot of people," said Ravena.
