PhilSports to host SEA Games volleyball
LVPI president Peter Cayco announced that the 30th Southeast Asian Games volleyball games will be played in the PhilSports Arena.

The Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee tapped the PhilSports Arena as the venue for the 30th SEA Games men’s and women’s volleyball in November.

Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. president Peter Cayco said that the Pasig City gym will be the battle ground of one of the most popular team sports in the biennial meet.

“Sa PhilSports na ang volleyball for both men’s and women’s. ‘Yung event na dati dapat doon inilipat ng venue,” said Cayco.

The organizing body, initially, wanted the sport to be held at the Big Dome but scheduling problems prevented it to push through. PHISGOC also looked at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna and the Muntinlupa Sports as playing venue options of the sport that will run starting November 28.

The 10,000-seater gym has hosted local and international volleyball events including the inaugural Asian Women’s U-23 Championship back in 2015.
