The core of the reigning UAAP girls volleyball champion NU-Nazareth School will banner the Philippine team in the 2020 Asian Women’s U-19 Volleyball Championship.
Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. has tapped the core of UAAP girls champion Nazareth School of National University to represent the country in the 2020 Asian Women’s U-19 Volleyball Championship in Chongqing, China.
A selection of the finest high school players bannered by a majority of the Bullpups will participate in the tournament set from June 22 to 29.
The Regine Diego-mentored NU squad led by Mhicaela Belen, Alyssa Solomon and Evangeline Alinsug swept their way into the schools' fifth title in six years in the UAAP Season 82.
“Alisin na lang nila yung overage pwede naman sila mag-reinforce,” said National team program head Peter Cayco following the LVPI’s technical meeting Friday.
The sports’ local governing body also considered the inclusion of Diego in the coaching staff bannered by Kungfu Reyes and Brian Esquibel.
“LVPI would like Regine Diego of NU to be part of the U19 National Coaches pool,” said LVPI secretary general Ariel Paredes.
Paredes also added that LVPI is also looking to send a team in the Princess Cup 14th Southeast Asian Women’s U-17 Championship in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from August 29 to September 2.
“’Yung Princess Cup balak namin i-offer Champion team ng NCAA/UAAP selection,” said Paredes.
