Jaja Santiago and the Saitama Ageo Medics came up short of advancing to the championship round of the Japan V. Premier League Division 1.

The Ageo Medics bowed down to JT Marvelous in straight sets, 16-25, 18-25, 22-25, on Saturday in the knockout semifinals.

Santiago finished with nine attacks, a kill block and an ace while Croatian Katarina Barun wound up with 17 points for Ageo Medics, which was relegated to the battle for third against Denso Airybees.

JT Marvelous will face the Okayama Seagulls in the championship round on Sunday.

The Seagulls outlasted Denso Airybees, 26-24, 25-14, 19-25, 23-25, 15-7, in the other Final Four paring.

Ageo Medics made history when it advanced to the semis for the first time after finishing at second spot in the Final 8 Group A following a five-set win over NEC Red Rockets last week.
